Update: We don't do ALL of this every, single, day.  (I will post my sample schedules that I use for the kids soon.) For what I call our "core" curriculum, we do bible, math, history, latin, grammar, and writing every day.  Two to three times a week we do spelling, vocabulary, science, and geography. Then there is some other little "daily work" that the kids do, deepening on their age/grade.

  1. Hi Kelly! I love all of your curriculum choices! Surely you don't do every subject, everyday (do you?!?!). If you don't, could you please list a sample weekly schedule for one of your kiddos as to what all they do each day? Thank you! Jenny

  2. Jenny, Ha! No! ;) No way we could do them all everyday. We do bible, math, history, latin, grammar and writing daily. The rest are either under "daily work" and takes 5 min, or we do them twice a week. Great idea! I will post schedules for each and update the post with more explanation.

  3. For some reason this post was just emailed to me so I thought you already planned for the fall. I was all: "WOW!!" Ha ha!

We just finished up our CC year. It was our first year in Essentials. We had done Rod and Staff before Essentials, but Essentials keep us SO busy! Do you feel that doing Essentials as well as R & S is necessary? I want to be sure I'm doing enough... I always felt that R & S is very solid.

By the way, how do you like Houston? (I'm the who emailed you after you announced you were moving here. :) We used to live in Katy but moved to the Sugar Land area.
